What is the most important thing in life? It is the question of all questions. If we can’t get this one question right everything else in life is in vain. Let us go to the greatest mind of all time Jesus Christ himself.
Remember in John chapter three when a Rabbi named Nicodemus came to Jesus wanting to understand what life was all about? Why? Because he seen the miracles this man Jesus had done. And he said, “we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.” What Nic also failed to understand is that the man Christ Jesus he was talking to was not just a man sent from God, but was indeed God himself in the flesh.
1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Jesus, God with us, cuts right to the most important thing in life and says unless a man is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. Then Nicodemus replied, How? How can these things be?
Christianity is hopeless without the Holy Ghost. To be born again you must receive the Holy Ghost, just like they all did in the book of Acts. The Holy Ghost is God’s only agent on Earth in this dispensation, or this period of time, that can free us from the wrath to come. The Father in creation, the Son in redemption, the Holy Ghost in regeneration. We are living in the day of regeneration.
The Holy Ghost is the only experience that we can have of almighty God that will allow us to be saved. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead can live in you when you repent, and are baptized in the name above every name, the name of Jesus Christ.
In Noah’s day the only way to be saved was through the ark, in Moses time it was the law, in our time its through regeneration of the Holy Ghost, and the evidence that you have it is by speaking in another tongue that no one taught you.
Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
People say, what about the thief on the cross?
That was before Jesus died and was raised from the dead giving the disciples the instructions to go to Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high. The Holy Ghost is that power. It is the answer to the most important question. So you see, the thief was still under the law, and Jesus pardoned his sin and took him to paradise. Now to go to paradise today you must be born again of the water and of the spirit.
Why everyone does not want resurrection power living inside of them and giving them a peace and protection is beyond me. The most important thing in life is to hear him say well done. If Acts 2:38 is not applied to your life you will never hear those words come from the mouth of Jesus when we all stand before him.
The Bible itself was written by the Holy Ghost. 2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost moved them into writing down what to say for you and I today.
Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
You must believe on Jesus as the scriptures have said if you want living water. Not as mom and dad say. Not as your wife said. Not as your husband said. As the scriptures have said. Only then will you become born again into the kingdom of God and become a citizen of another world. Its the most important thing you and I must do today and everyday there after until he returns, or we go by the grave.
Jesus, God himself, showed us what we must do even before the book of Acts. Take a look.
Mat 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
What is the most important thing in life? For the spirit of God to descend like a dove upon you. To be born again, and hear him say well done thou good and faithful servant.
